I am happy to have been one of the few front-end developers who had the opportunity to contribute to the ING Direct–Tangerine rebrand project.
My role on the project was front-end developer, implementing functionality and design from wireframes and Photoshop comps, to developing user-friendly, intuitive dynamic forms for everyday banking tasks as well as account registration.
The ING Direct–Tangerine rebrand included a fully-responsive website, optimized for a variety of screen sizes and devices including phones, tablets, and even gracefully degrades down to Internet Explorer 7. Tangerine is the first Canadian bank to launch a fully responsive website.
Another great contribution to the ING Direct–Tangerine rebrand project was the development of the content marketing platform, the Forward Banking blog. I single-handedly developed the front-end solution for this project using the AngularJS JavaScript framework. The application uses WordPress as a service, and all user-facing pages are strictly HTML5/JavaScript. The AngularJS application integrates seamlessly with the rest of the website after the custom development of a number of directives designed to extend support of existing plugins for AngularJS, including the official AngularJS support for picturefill, currently the best solution for responsive images in Angular apps.
